Protecting the Black Soil Granary with Smart Tech | Weichai Lovol Smart Agriculture Showcases at the National Conservation Tillage On-Site Meeting

As spring approaches, the fertile black soil is poised for the upcoming sowing season. On April 10, the national training and on-site demonstration event for conservation tillage technologies was held in Songyuan City, Jilin Province. Weichai Lovol Smart Agriculture exhibited intelligent tractors and a full range of advanced sowing machines tailored for Northeast China, safeguarding the precious black soil granary through technological innovation.


Songyuan is located within the world’s prime corn belt and the core black soil region of Northeast China. At the event, Weichai Lovol intelligent agricultural machinery stood out for its outstanding performance and mature technical solutions, drawing wide attention from experts, scholars, agricultural machinery promoters and large-scale growers. In recent years, Weichai Lovol Smart Agriculture has continuously focused on the R&D and application of conservation tillage equipment. A lineup of Lovol 2-row, 4-row and 6-row electric pneumatic seed drills, specially developed to support black soil protection initiatives, made a stunning appearance. During field demonstrations, Lovol heavy-duty no-till electric pneumatic seeders and finger-type seeders were matched with tractors of different horsepower to conduct multi-scenario operations, including straw-mulched no-till sowing and precision planting.

Lovol no-till seeders excel at precision seeding under straw mulch, with remarkable improvements in seeding and fertilizing accuracy, seedling emergence rate and seedling uniformity. Growers can complete the entire conservation tillage process in one pass — including fertilization, stubble removal, ditching, seeding, soil covering and compaction — without straw cleaning or traditional ploughing. This practice effectively improves soil fertility while greatly cutting production costs.
